The word diet is simply the process of ingesting food in a regulated fashion in order to achieve a certain goal. A diet is not a plan where you eat little or nothing, remove carbohydrates from your meals, or survive on a shake every day; these are crash diets and should be avoided as they are unsustainable.

Read up on the different food types and work out how much you should be eating and when. Once you’ve got this plan for sensible food intake, then you can think about your exercise. It’s essential, but it doesn’t have to be difficult. Take it easy and don’t overdo: an hour a day would be fantastic.
